Swami Vivekananda is reported to have said: God alone is our goal. Failure to reach God we die.
There really is no other purpose to human existence. All matters and issues of living with objectives to deal with ones circumstanes give fleeting satisfaction from money, wealth, fame or power to control material resources and feed our bodies with resultant animalistic and ego based happiness but these are mundane and shortlved and do not yield contiuous peace of mind. So we must keep searching for this elusive entity the Creator to see if this path will be more fruitful.
If there was a Creator It created the human mind. So It must have had a purpose for doing so. The mind is not a DNA-gene transcribed entity. Only the brain cells are so. This mind of ours is the proof of the existence of God in us. It can be put to material gains or spiritual gains. Spirit refers to God.
When material gains leave the mind still agitated one needs to open up the question of the possibility of acquiring spiritual gains or both material gains and spiritual gains. Is both possible is yet anther question.
Material gains mean controlling the external environment like killing a mosquito that is biting you and sucking blood from your body. There are mosquitoes in human form whom we call evil. Killing any kind of mosquito means that one is living like a animal, that is to say a mosquito oneself living to material gains of having good health and a longer life. This is the life of an animal machine.
On the other hand one can look for spiritual gains to see if this provides everlasting happiness or ananda. To go down this path the mind therefore starts to control the internal environment instead of the external environment. When one seeks this it comes from unattachment to bodily matters and its ego but the desire for peace of mind is still present. Then one has knowledge of the nature of the Mind and the Creator of the Mind who bestows spirituality to the seeker.
To go for a balance of material and simultaneously spiritual gains is like having one's cake and eating it. One can only have one or the other. To find God one has to give up all ones material gain objectives and become intensly spiritual with the purest of minds. Then there is Vishista advaita union with the mind having become the Suprmind or Om the association with the Mind of the Creator God. This union makes everything clear
The person who was a 'self' in pursuing material gains is now transformed to 'Self' for spiritual gains alone.
The Self state of Supermind thus attained is not God which is Mind and so still Brahman, the universe created by God. That is the extent of association between living beings and God.
I named our Cteator God Sri Krishna/Devi Durga becsuse He/She can through maya come into the.mind from Mind which lies dormant generally nf there is a special mission that is to be enscted. I do not think it is possible to interact with God otherwise. This is because bhakti snd surrender cannot be performed if one has material gains in ones objectives. One needs to be.at one with Nature (Brahman universe) through truth accommodation each moment of ones existence.
