'Ignorance is bliss' is taught as a proverb to moronic-slaves leading meaningless lives: the opposite is true. Kowledge can tame the wildest of human beasts into silence such that the empty vessels of materialism are rendered into their cubby holes unable to make their barking noise.
When the herd moves, it moves in unison under the herding-banner of ignorance of united we stand and divided we fall, little knowing and blissfully unaware that when the blind follow the blind they all and up in the ditch. Whe confronted by the knowledge of civilisation their barking proves worse than their bite and they retreat in a whimper.
